Oak Wood School is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its pupils in their GCSE and other qualifications this summer. Overall, our pupils achieved 20% of grades at 9-7, 53% 9-5 and 72% 9-4, and we had some exceptional individual results:
- Shaun T. (11-5) has achieved an outstanding set of results with seven subjects at Grade 9 - English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science (double), Geography, Physical Education, a D* in Information Technology and a Grade 8 in French. We wish him well for the future.
- Sami M. (11-2) has achieved an exceptional set of results including seven subjects at Grade 9 - English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science (double), Geography, Physical Education, and Grade 8 in French and Business Studies. We wish him well with his continued studies.
- Adam S. (11-3) has achieved a fantastic set of results with five subjects at Grade 9 - English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Film Studies, Religious Studies, as well as Grade 8 in Science (double), History, and Business Studies. We wish him well with his continued studies at Oak Wood School Sixth Form.
This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher-assessed grades, against a national standard, approved, and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.
Daniel Cowling, Headteacher of Oak Wood School said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our Year 11 pupils, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure that all pupils are all able to progress onto further study and we look forward to hearing about their successes in the future.”
